Oil Pastels/Mixed Media on Cardboard

I am presently working on a series of oil pastels on cardboard of LA figurative and costume models. These woman and men are painted and drawn all over LA from the suburbs to the city, the film studios to individual artist’s studios. They are the faces and bodies of the figurative art movement of our time. I had been documenting them through my work at my private studio workshop called Imaginings Sketch until the emergence of Covid-19. Each model I have been privileged to draw brought with them their unique point of view and the infinity of who they are. Covid-19 had brought isolation to my work putting a barrier between myself and the live human figure, but it has also added to my contemplation of my work and the realization how precious time is. I am proud of what I have and am documenting.
